People with autism sometimes engage in repetitive behaviors that appear to have no purpose or function.

👋Tactical {Clapping your hands constantly, touching the dead skin of your hands for a moment} 👁Visual {Looking at the gaps in the lines, squeezing your eyes hard to create hallucinations} 👂🏻Auditory {Interesting tones, repeatedly turning on the TV to listen to the opening tone of a certain brand of TV} 👅Smelling / licking Smell/lick {smell the hair, lick the second finger bone} 🧠Vestibular {rocking back and forth, rotating} 🧠Proprioception body {grinding teeth, jumping} 🪐Object Object {bus subway route map, solar system stars} 🌈Pattern Patterns/Patterns {Numbers, letters, shapes and colors, 3-year-old children watch the financial station every day, daily weather report relative humidity} 👄Verbal Verbal {Solomons, endorsements, dialogue lines, one person plays multiple roles} ㊙️Ritual Ritual {Specific order of actions, placement method, the stool belonging to the study cannot be used in the living room} ⛔️Rigidity Stubborn {Perseverance, mother is responsible for changing clothes and mother-in-law is responsible for feeding, cannot turn around, can only turn left but not right when walking on the street} 🤕Sometimes self-injurious behavior occurs, such as excessive beating of the body causing bruises, or excessive rubbing of the skin to the point of pain.

❌People who don’t understand regard it as a repetitive and weird behavior and look at it with discrimination. I think this behavior should be eliminated immediately, tell him not to do it, tell him to silence, and he will return to normal.

❤️But after carefully understanding their needs and the causes of their behaviors, you will find that for autistic people, this kind of behavior can represent different functions:

1️⃣Self-stimulation: self-satisfaction and self-entertainment behavior when bored, seeking sensory stimulation, and really enjoying it. 2️⃣ It may also be that you are under great pressure and encounter problems that cannot be solved, and self-stimulation behavior will become a way to reduce stress or escape from reality. 3️⃣It may also be the way they communicate and express themselves, using individual behaviors to attract attention.

🌟Each unique autistic person has their own individual reasons.

~~~~~
‼ ️But actually everyone has these behaviors! You have it and I have it! {Self-explosion: Food of different colors and flavors cannot be put in the same bowl, I would rather not eat it🤢}
😌It’s just that the degree of expression is different. Maybe we have a little understanding of human nature and understand the current situation. We usually accept it, try to be patient, and find ways to solve it. Does this mean that all these behaviors should be banned? Is it actually harmless sometimes?
⚖️The difference depends on whether one knows how to control it, whether it affects learning, whether it affects socializing and integrating into society, and whether it causes individuals to indulge in self-stimulation and forget to deal with daily life.
Today is "World Autism Awareness Day". I hope everyone can understand more about the reasons behind their behaviors and spend more time understanding and tolerating them. Please try:
🤪Introduce more new things to play, making him feel that there are actually many more fun things in this world than him~ 🧐Understand that they have different levels of difficulties, understand their difficulties, and solve problems together 🤩Spend more time with him, invest in his hobbies, guide him to turn his hobbies into more valuable activities, and use his strengths 🥰Understand his insecurities and respect him Respect their preferences and do not forcefully break their rituals and stubbornness. At the same time, we must help them strengthen their cognition: learn self-control, distinguish between priorities, when they can do it, when they cannot do it, and explain when they cannot do it. What were the consequences? Is there anything else that would be better? Just maintain it until daily life, socializing and studying😌
Let's study together and cheer together💪
