Last time I shared the steps we can take when children use behavioral communication.
However, some parents still say that it is difficult for children with persistent problem behaviors, weak language skills, or autism to get over it. When parents try to practice, ask the children to speak and push twice more. Or as soon as the child puts away the object he wants, he signals that he won't do it, or after waiting, the child immediately loses his temper, cannot accept it at all, and is forced to have no choice but to dare not challenge again. 🥶
If we want to improve the overall situation, we need to teach children to understand
"the Power of Language: The power of language"💪
Just talk, it's effective, quick and convenient, and it's easier and more comfortable than losing your temper.
🎁 Free gifts: If things don’t go well for practice, give more gifts at the beginning. Display the object ➡️ The adult immediately says the short sentence to be used ➡️ Immediately send the object without pressure, associate the object name + object together, and teach the children the timing to speak. 🪄
🎩 Magic: Just one word of Ding is enough to make children understand the meaning of communication. As long as the target word is spoken, the corresponding object will appear immediately. When talking about bags, there will be bags, and when talking about cakes, there will be cakes. Immediately means delivering within "1 second". Sometimes children try hard to follow the words. After the words are finished, the adults first pick up the biscuits and then the bowls and then open them. The time interval is too long, which weakens the connection between the words and the objects. Problem behaviors may occur during the waiting process, which naturally reduces the children's ability to understand language.
🎯 The goal is simple and clear: determine the sentences to be spoken according to the child's ability. If the sentence is too long, complex, and beyond the scope of ability, children will find it too difficult and cost-effective, and naturally they will find it too annoying and not want to say more. So decide on the keyword first, or maybe just an approximate pronunciation, that's fine. After practicing fluency, lengthen the sentences according to your ability at the time, and then add the real Magic word “please” ~
~~~~~
🏵 Lay the foundation first and teach children the power of language and the timing of communication, so that children can discover that they don’t have to work so hard to lose their temper, they can just speak out~
🤗 Repeat the practice, set clear and reasonable goals, encourage the child to try more, appreciate his efforts, both parties will relax, and the practice will naturally go much smoother~
